How can I get my money back from UWC?

Unfortunately, UWC will only refund you SOME of the money you gave them, if you’re successful enough in your pursuit for it.

If you paid by credit card, contact your credit card company immediately to cancel the payment (do not contact UWC Corp before you do this, as it will affect your chances of reclaiming your money).

Here is a consumer complaint posted on Complaints Board in February, 2014-

I bought training program from the company Universal Web Consulting. They promised good-quality and effective program, but instead I received the defective program, which was useless. I tried to replace it, but the provider refused and started to yell at me that it was my fault. Maybe someone has any ideas how to return money back, please contact me then or leave a comment. Thanks.

I posted a comment suggesting he submits a detailed complaint to which you can see by clicking on the picture above.

Here is one resolved complaint submitted on 18/04/2013-

Complaint:  No promises that made have been kept. They told me that I would have a business up and running within a couple of months. I paid the initial 2000 dollars and after a period of time was told that now i needed to pay 4000 to continue or loose what id already put into the business adventure. I paid the money, but seem to get no place. And it seems that they don,t want me to get anywhere. None of the promises have been given to me. I did recieve some coaching for about 10 minutes at a time and when I asked questions was put off, or told to call in. My coaching sessions got me no-where. I am an RN who is retired due to disability so I am not unteachable .

Desired Settlement:  I would like my money back. I paid the money on my Mastercard and they will have copies of my transactions which show that I paid the amount of 6000.00 and I have e-mails from them also confirming this.

Business Response:                    BBB and ******* *******,
I have spoken to Mrs. ******* on 4-9-13 and we have come to a resolution  that she is comfortable with. UWC is going to refund $3,995 USD back to her credit card and it will be processed in the next 7-14 business days. She has asked us to close down her account as well. UWC appreciates the opportunity to respond to this matter and we are happy that we were able to resolve everything. Please feel free to contact me directly with any other questions or concerns.
Sincerely, Jim Arteca 632-385-8203

Consumer Response:

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business’s response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9490284, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Alternatively, you may want to submit your complaint to Scambook as high volume complaints apparently give you a better chance of getting your money back. Here is a resolved complaint whose reported damages was $4,495.00-

They told in the beginning if you pay $1.95 ,its fine by using Amazon you can earn lot of money,Later they rang me after two days and they explained very intelligently and i got trapped in them they told in a month you can earn $3000 per month and i thought its nice deal can recover my money in 1 to 45 days and they told nothing you need to do pay from credit cards and you can get back and you will be financially well settled and from 7 months i didn’t earn even $1 from my website,Although they are giving training,They are saying still time is there and i am definite at the end of year they say year is finished,They are saying is 1 year training. My mail id:(Personal Information Removed)

Update: 04/17/2013

i am following up the complaint that i have made and if it’s successful i am ready to give some funds to scam book too for resolving the complaint and helping me to get out of this bad situation.

Update: 04/23/2013

Please update the status.

Update: 04/30/2013

please follow up about the complaint.

Update: 05/08/2013

please update if it’s successful or not.

Update: 06/28/2013

Issue is been resolved and accepted by me, they deposited 1000 dollars.

Please note this is not guaranteed to get you your money back. Whether or not you’re successful in getting (a portion of) your money back is down to you, so make sure your complaint is as detailed as possible and clarify why you’re not happy. It’s such a shame they would only refund some of your money, but clearly the rogue salesmen and women employed at UWC still need their fat paychecks.
Their attitude is that it is YOUR fault for not following up with their program, but is it really worth investing your time on it? They will show you an example of how your website should look, such as . Does it look like the sort of website YOU would buy from? Does it really generate any profits? Let them provide the proof, such as a screenshot of the Amazon affiliate account linked to the website – if they can!
TIP – Be persistent, but polite. You would normally speak to the head of “Quality Management” Gary Minor first, but you would get a more generous “refund” from his superior, Jim Arteca. In my own experience, I was put through to Jim and got back $1400 from the total $3000 I paid them, had my monthly web hosting fee waived and he even threw in Ryan Murray’s oh-so-amazing (SI) “Ebay Super Seller” package free of charge.
